• Notes

  Catherine McDole was the only daughter of  Alexander McDole, a Damask manufacturer. She married  Robert Gillis . They had three sons and one daughter. The birth order of the children is unknown at this time although  John William  was born in 1804 and  Rebecca's  son John was born in 1818 so it is likely that  Rebecca  was older than  John William .
