• Notes

  Daniel Mooney was born in Drum Parish, County Monaghan, Ireland. He was Roman Catholic. He eloped with Rebecca Gillis. One child, John, was born in 1818 and sometime around 1820, Daniel was accidently killed. Rebecca's father, Robert, took Rebecca, then a young widow of 19, and her son back into the family home. A few months later a daughter Kate was born. They lived and were brought up in their grandfather's home in Ireland.
