  Jean Quetteville was born 5/7/1763 the son of  Jean Coteville and  Esther Guille  on Guernsey in the Channel Islands. He married  Marie Hammon  on 4/11/1789 in the Town Church at St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands. They had three sons. Around 1815, Jean, Marie, and their three sons immigrated to Quebec City, QB. In Quebec, John established a grocery business with his sons. The 1825 Quebec almanac and British American Royal Kalendar under the Quebec Wesleyan Missionary Auxilliary Society lists a John Codville committee member. https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=aeu.ark:/13960/t8gf1gw71;view=1up;seq=212 John died 12/23/1842. He is buried at Mount Hermon Cemetery in Quebec City, QB (his body was moved from the Wesleyan burial grounds in 1865).
